Dimension 0-1-2-3-4
Some people might think that only few dimensions involved in construction project. But in fact, there are 5 dimensions altogether: 0th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
OD = Dream
0D or the zero dimension presents owner’s dreams, imaginations or conceptual ideas.
1D = Documentation (Paper Works)
1D or the first dimension is to define and interpret the dream into physical. This includes paper works of information and data preparation, law and regulations study and program requirement.
2D = Design (W x L)
2D or the second dimension is the design process to make the requirement into drawings and blueprints.
3D = Construction (W x L x H)
3D or the third dimension is to construct the building from two- dimensions in drawing or blueprints into buildings and usable space.
4D = Operation (space & time)
4D or the fourth dimension can probably reviews as the most important part of the project. Because, actually it is the real ‘Birth’ of the building to have its own life. It is this dimension that people moves in and operates the building.
